So I am finally a big girl and have finished my website! With that I have also moved my blog over there. Please pop over there, check out my new post, and sign up so you can sill get blog post notifications.  Oh and please pleases please, let me know what you things of the redesign.  It is a work in progress and I am looking for input.

For the past year I have been working various different photo shoots and projects for a new design and lifestyle book by Erin Gates of Elements of Style.  Two weeks ago we shot her head shot for the book and yesterday the book went on pre-sale on!  Knowing that she has impeccable taste I was thrilled and honored when she asked me to help contribute some of my photography skills to her book.  I knew she wasn’t just asking me as a friend as she wouldn’t settle for less than perfect for her book. (Over the years I have had the pleasure of working closely with Erin; I shared my first studio space in Boston with her, and have also come to call her a dear friend.)  I am also humbled to have my photography credit name next to some of my interior photographer idols and fellow contributors Michael Partenio and Michael J Lee.  On top of all that, the book pre-order sales made Elements of style #1 best selling Home Decorating book on Amazon and top 50 on all of Amazon!  Crazy.  Pre-order yours now so you won’t have to wait come the release date.  Looks like there will surely be addition printing needed!  Congrats Erin and I am so so thrilled to be a part of this book in even my small way.  (Don’t worry, mom, mother-in-law, sister and sister-in-laws…I have already per-ordered some for you.)  Pre-order it here.

Unused head shot from our shoot…you will have to get the book to see which photo she choose.

The dogs were not always this cooperative.

I am so excited to have our studio featured on The Everygirl, along with an interview. It was quite a change being in front of the camera instead of behind it but Alaina and Danielle from The Everygirl are wonderful. I am so thrilled to final get to share what my studio looks like as well! Here are some teaser photos, but go over to The Everygirl to see the whole feature.

P.S. Our studio mates Erin Gates and Jessica Sutton were featured last week. Our building is seriously filled with some powerhouse creative women. I feel so luck to be a part of it.

Once When I Was Very Young

December 1, 2011

While I was back in Atlanta last week, I went through some of my old childhood things which had been stacked in my room for months.  Call it nesting, but I realized the next time I would be back in my home town, I would have an infant in tow and all sorts of pack n’ play, diapers and stroller type, baby gear.  Also, my mom saved EVERYTHING, so there was much that needed to be gone through.  I am so thankful she saved so much because I found this little gem from my 4 year old preschool class…

My name is Sarah

My favorite color is periwinkle and midnight blue. (Wow, I was very specific…I think they were my two favorite crayon colors.)

My favorite pet is a horse. (Don’t worry, this isn’t the Real Housewives.  I did not in fact have a horse.  I just always wanted one.)

My favorite toy is my French doll. (Not an actual doll from France.  Just one with a fancy dress so I called her Frenchie.  Did I mention I was sophisticated?)

My favorite T.V. program is The Dukes of Hazzard.  (Again, sophisticated and who at that time didn’t like the Dukes of Hazzard?!?  I am showing my age.)

My favorite food is carrots. (What?!?!  I must have been trying to impress the teacher.)

I want to be a cowgirl and an artist when I grow up.  (I love this.  I now have my own studio and am doing the thing I love…next up, I am moving to Wyoming and becoming a cowgirl, I guess.)
