Imagine my delight when I saw this black and white stripe package awaiting me the other day. My client, friends and awesome clothing company, Two Penny Blue, sent me the one and only Cambridge blazer! In Mint!
Here we are in various states of unpacking. I had to record each step of the way, because the box, the tissue, the seal, everything was just perfect. I do love me some good packaging. I was almost as excited about the packaging as I was about the blazer…almost. You better believe this is the first thing going in my suitcase as I pack tomorrow night for a family wedding in Ohio and then our week in Sea Island, GA. I can’t wait to pair it now with white jeans and a cobalt blue tank and dark wide leg jeans and orange for fall.

When I do editorial photo shoots I always wait excitedly to see which images the editor selects for publication. I love seeing their vision emerge from the roll of photographs I deliver. It is often totally different from what I would expect…in a good way. The day I spent photographing the ladies of Two Penny Blue for Matchbook Magazine yielded some great shots, and I loved the soft white light feel Matchbook choose. There were also some fun moodier images from the day. Here are more from that shoot.

The other week I photographed the lovely and talented Marie Whitney and Erin Gates for a feature in Matchbook Magazine. The article highlights their newest clothing and charitable venture Two Penny Blue. As they describe it, “Two Penny Blue is a collection of luxury jackets and blazers that combines thoughtful classic design with fine fabrics.” On top of designing some great fitting blazers in some killer fabrics, with every jacket purchased, they donate a school uniform to a girl in need in Africa. Although school is often free, each year millions of girls are denied the opportunity to attend school because they can not afford a school uniform. Looking great and helping to empower girls, what is better than that?!?! I had a great time photographing them and tried on a few blazers myself. They are fabulous! Below is the spread from the issue, but go to page 72 to read the full feature.
P.S. See if you can spot the peonies my intern found and I blogged about last week.
As a thank you, I was lucky enough to get my hands on this fantastic mint number. It runs very true to size and fits like a dream.
