Spring 2012
March 22, 2012
Up and down the east coast we are experiencing an unusually warm Spring. After watching Frozen Planet this weekend I know I should be concerned about global warming and the melting of the polar ice caps, especially after dying over those adorable baby polar bears, but I cannot help but be happy to toss aside my boots and strap on some sandals. Sorry baby polar bears.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I thought the bronze “Make Way for Ducklings” in the Boston Public Garden looked great. Don’t they kind of look drunk?
Joss & Main
March 15, 2012
I was so excited to see Joss & Main used some of my photography for a sale curated by Erin Gates of Erin Gates Design and Elements of Style. The sale begins this evening at 7:30 pm EDT! The items in her sale are inspired by one of her previous posts about “furniture men hate” for a “what women want” sale featuring lots of accessories, lucite and the like. Below are some of my photos incorporated in the look book. I love the girly glam feel.

Go check out the sale this evening.
Chicks Man
March 13, 2012
My brother and sister-in-law are building a chicken coup! They live in Boulder, CO and have a darling bungalow right in town. I am so jealous of their beautiful Boulder life and a chicken coup in the backyard is just the pies de resistance to the laid back, outdoorsy, eco-friendly lifestyle. Mind you, this is no ugly coup with chicken wire for walls. The design matches their house and is seriously nicer than my first apartment out of college. My sister-in-law is a budding photographer herself and has shared these photos as the chicks wait for their home to be finished. Perfect timing for Spring and Easter!

Introducing, the newest ladies of Boulder. (Hopefully they are all female…no roosters are allowed in the city of Boulder.)

First up we have the blonde of the group, Buttercup. She may look cute, but watch out if you ruffle her feathers.
On lead cluck-tar we have Camile

The sassy one of the bunch with her dramatic eyeliner, Littley

And the tough girl, Little Jerry.

I’ll have Melissa send me photos of the coup once completed. That’s all folks.
Street Style – London, Milan and Paris
March 8, 2012
I think what appeals to me most about street style during fashion week rather than what the designers are showing on the runway, it is the fact editors and models are wearing what is weather appropriate for right now. That and the fact that is has become a runway show of its own with so many street style photographers and blogs. So, rounding out the end of all the Fashion Weeks, I picked some of my favorite street style shots from London, Milan and Paris. After a month of looking at others in their finest fashion, as I sit in my postpartum uniform of yoga pants and oversize t-shirts, I am ready to pilfer my closet, pull out the color and put on some heals. Hello sunshine!

Military neutral always seem to look so polished.

While the shorts seem quite optimistic for March, I love the sleek jacket and printed top. Also, a smile makes everything more chic.

I photographed this over sized envelope clutch for a store over a year ago and still covet it. The green seems so perfect for Spring.

Boston Guide – Date Night
March 6, 2012
Lately, I have been doing work with Panorama Magazine and Boston Guide…you know, that Playbill size city magazine you see at many of the hotels and tourist spots. We did a really beautiful cover and style piece for the February issue I have been dying to share.
The photo shoot was a breeze and our models Christine and Shawn were fabulous. I swear the cover shot took only 10 frames to get. Christine was amazing.

Behind the Scenes
Having a studio of my own has been the best thing ever. We just threw up a backdrop and went to town.
Comes the Night
March 5, 2012
The sun is shinning brightly today with the promise of Spring, but this past month the night has become my good friend. With baby feedings coming at any hour, I have come to appreciate the beauty of those quite hours of the night.

“I’ve done a lot if things in my life. Most of them inadvertent.” —Michael Feldman
I read this quote over on Stacy Style’s blog the other day and I find it to be so true. While I am a very goal oriented person and love digging into new projects, I rarely approach things with a single minded, do or die, attitude. I usually let my passions, desires and gut steer where I am going. My love for a man (now my husband) brought me to Boston, which led me to start my own business. Moving to a new city where I knew no one and trying to start a business led me to meet some of the most wonderfully, creative and inspirational people…well that and my blogs and social media addiction. Now that I am a mom to the most beautiful baby girl and figuring the whole parenting thing out, I find all these inadvertent things have helped to create this beautiful, beautiful life I find myself leading. Don’t get me wrong, my to do list is still a mile long and I am lucky if I get a shower and a thank you note a day completed, but I am figuring it out. I must remind myself it is okay if I don’t have my s*#! together. Combining being a mother and running a business will take time or as Bob in “What About Bob” put it baby steps.
