Desert Beauty
September 28, 2011
Growing up in the south and living most of my life in the deciduous forests of east coast, I find the desert of Tucson, Arizona absolutely fascinating. The Sonora desert feels almost Jurassic Park like in its flora and fauna with two hundred year old saguaro cactus, mesquite trees, and enormous succulents blanketing the mountains and canyons. Not to mention the road runners, javelinas, bob cats and coyote roaming the ranch. It is such a special place for me and such a departure from my everyday.

Gorgeous photos!!
… and the hikes – they seem like they’d be a breeze, until you’re halfway up the mountain. Years ago I stayed at the Phoenician with friends for a wedding and will never forget how amazing it was to hike up Camelback! Your mom is awesome!
